My husband and I returned home on Jan. 20th from a wonderful 2 week trip to Egypt using the services of Go Travel Egypt and Mr. Mostafa Mosbah. There were 4 of us, two couples, who wanted ot have the flexibility of planning a tour which met our desire to really immerse ourselves in the history of Egypt and to have the control and flexilbity that a private tour allows. We also wanted a good value. We believe we received both out of our trip. From the moment we got to the airport to the moment we left the country, the trip went very, very well.

We also had some last minute changes made by Mr. Mostafah in terms of accommodations, but were satisfied with every place that we stayed. What was a particular delight was how well Mr. Mostafa matched us with tour guides that really suited us and were open to what we wanted to learn. The experience of having university-trained Egyptologists guide us through some of the most magnificent sites I have ever seen in my world travels was amazing. The two guides we spent the most time with were Adel Abuel Naga in Cairo and Ahmed Saeed in Luxor and Answan. We learned so much from them and felt well taken care of.

One thing I would have changed, as would everyone in our party, is the night train from Cairo to Luxor, and then the return trip later in our journey from Luxor to Cairo (also at night). We asked for it enthusiastically, we got it, and we will fly next time we go to Egypt.

Some helpful hints:

1. Tipping is huge in Egypt. HUGE. Be sure to have small deonominations of Egyptian currency and coin at every turn. We even brought some small denominations of US currency to trip.

2. Service charges and taxes at meals in restaurants is also high and can add a good 25% more to the bill.

3. Vendors wanting to sell you things are at every monument and almost always you have to walk through the shops to exit the monument. We began to call it the "gauntlet."

4. There are tourist police everywhere ensuring the safety of visitors. At first, this was a bit shocking to see since it is so different than our experience in the San Francisco Bay Area, but after the initial impression, we acclimated, experienced their helpfulness in answering questions (in Cairo especially), and felt very safe throughout our trip.

All in our party felt the experience a rich one and all of us were thankful for the help of Mr. Mostafah Masbah and the wondeful people we came in contact with in Egypt.

I can't stop telling people what a wonderful trip I had in Egypt, in large part due to the services of "Go Travel Egypt"

My husband decided he wanted to celebrate his 50th birthday in Egypt, a place he had long wanted to visit, and he wanted the flexibility of planning an itinerary of his choosing, which sometimes took us off the beaten path. He also wanted value. We decided the best way to proceed was to use the services of an Egyptian travel agent to make the most of our time and money. Over the internet, we sent out several inquiries to different agents with what we were looking for. From the beginning, we found the response and service from Mr. Mostafa Mosbah of "Go Travel Egypt" to be excellent. He really listened to what we wanted out of the trip, helped to plan an itinerary that worked for us and another couple who was traveling with us, and was responsive to our e-mail questions (there were a lot!) in a timely fashion. Quickly we knew that he was the tour operator we wanted to work with.

I must admit to some nervousness on our part at first using a travel agent so far away, especially when we had to wire one-half the cost of the trip before we got there, and pay for the other half on arrival. But I am delighted to say that everything that was promised by Mr. Mosbah was fulfilled. From pick-up at the airport in Cairo to drop-off there two weeks later, our trip went very, very well. All in our party were satisfied with the accommodations and with the touring services we received.

Of special note, we particularly enjoyed our university-trained, English-speaking Egyptologist guides that we spent the most time with - Adel Abuel Naga (in Cairo) and Ahmed Saeed (in Luxor-Aswan). Both men were deeply knowledgeable and able to make the history come to life. Both were also kind men wanting us to see the treasures of their country and appreciate them. We also appreciated their help with practical matters like taking us to banks, grocery stores, and the like to take care of our day-to-day needs on a trip. Because we were on a private tour, there was also the flexibility to stay at some sites longer that we found interesting. Here, too, our guides were very responsive to our wishes. We also found ourselves wanting to add a couple of extra things to our itinerary once we were in Egypt. For a reasonable extra charge, Mr. Mosbah made those trips possible and at the last minute provided another excellent guide (Marci) to show us the pyramids south of Giza. I also have to put in a good word for our driver in Cairo, Mr. Mostafa Khaled. In a city known for crazy driving, I always felt safe in his van and appreciated his good nature and humor.

I realized when I got home that I felt more refreshed than in trips in the past. Most often when my husband and I have traveled overseas, we have done all the planning and logistics ourselves and have a lot of experience doing it. I know without a doubt that using the services of "Go Travel Egypt" helped me to enjoy and see much more than if we had done it all ourselves. Thanks to Mr. Mostafa Mosbah and his excellent staff for making our trip one we will always remember with a smile.
